How I Became Gabby

My real name is not Gabby. There are a couple reasons I use that name and a few reasons that I made a Gabby Video for everyone to see that might know and want to meet "Lil Ole Gabby."

The first reason I use the name? When I was a kid, I couldn't sleep at night so I would sneak in my parents' room and talk to my Mom and tell her jokes. I must have been really funny sometimes because she would start laughing and wake up my Dad. On occasion he must have heard a lot of great jokes, he would wake up laughing and tell me that it was time for Gabby to get to her own room and go to sleep. The name started to stick throughout the daytime. Talking too much and too fast is where I'm guessing he came up with the name!  ; )

When I was older, I started hanging out with a great group of people online. Eventually, I ended up with a stalker that was saying mean and nasty things to me online one minute and being really nice other times. I didn't like this person. It seemed no matter where I went online, this person was there.

One day a friend of mine was on instant messenger with me while I was on this site. She came up with the idea of making an alternative identity, one that the stalking person would most likely ignore. I used the name my Dad had given me on my late joke nights as a kid. I put a picture on my profile that would scare away most any man on the face of the Earth and invented my own form of Hillbonics. It worked! The stalker didn't bother with "Gabby" much after that. My real/other identity on that site just disappeared.

What is Hillbonics?  It's hard for me to define. I  spelled words wrong, with an accent and used close to no punctuation. Gabby ended up being someone that everyone loved. Everyone thought they would love to meet Gabby and finally I decided that they could and made a Gabby Video for everyone to enjoy.

What have I learned through all this?

Sometimes a bad situation must happen so we can find ourselves in a better situation.

It upset me to an extent that people would take up an interest or not have any interest in someone, just because of the way someone else looks. The picture I used may have been offensive to some people, but I was probably more offended realizing which of my online friends chose their friends because of the picture that was posted.
